Exceeding Abundantly

They’re lining up

I had my book signing at the International Christian Retail Show yesterday and I am utterly amazed at how well it went. (But should I be amazed? I mean, doesn’t God always astound me?) In the hour allotted for my signing, there was always a long line of people and I loved connecting with everyone. My stack of 175 books was completely depleted after 55 minutes. Bookstore owners from every corner of the U.S. and even from Canada and England came for a copy.

The day before the signing, Steve and I prayed together and I asked God for many specific things concerning the event. Steve reminded me that I can leave it open for God to do it in His own way without telling Him how I think it should happen. After all, my book has always been His message and He’s in charge.

That evening, we went to a screening of a new film called "The Samaritan." The movie opened with a map of the world which zeroed in on Romania. Romania! I couldn’t believe it. The story was a moving tale of life under the oppressive Communist regime, ending with scenes of the revolution in December, 1989. We Wait You starts with the revolution and continues on for the next ten years. I could not have asked for a more perfect set-up for people to become interested in my book. Yes, I can leave it up to God to do it His way.

    Dear Taryn ~
I have been reading your blogs for quite some time now and feel so fortunate that it has connected me with my Forever Friend in Casa Grande.
You must have been ecstatic to have sold 175 books in less than an hour!  I am so very happy for your success.  Sixty years ago I would sit with your mother in our side yard while she not only wrote but also illustrated her own books.  The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
