Make new friends but keep the old …

Make new friends but keep the old . . .

One is silver, the other gold. . .  This morning, I bade farewell to some gold friends who’ve been visiting us from Hungary, and headed off to meet up with some silver ones. My heart feels full after days of reliving shared histories. Our experiences – living and ministering in Eastern Europe, trusting God for the impossible and seeing Him change hearts and lives – are uncommon.  We talked until late, we laughed, we cried, they became better acquainted with my husband (giving him a thumbs up), and we shared our hearts without fear.

As I think of the new people in my new life, I have great hope that some day not too far in the future, they may become gold friends, too.
