Lucy, excited by the prospect of birthday cake

Our little granddaughter, Lucy, turned one yesterday. She is a delight and her presence has enriched our lives. Lucy is a happy, good-natured baby, who likes everyone equally, whether it is a stranger at a baseball game or her own Pops and Nana. Usually she is very serious, with her wide-open eyes taking in every little detail. Last night at her birthday party, she entertained us with her dramatic and ever-changing expressions. Whenever anyone said something funny and laughter ensued, Lucy would laugh, wanting us all to believe that she got the joke, too. Lucy now has a new trick under her repertoire – walking. Who knows where those little legs will take her.
